Sincerely invites you to apply for the 2024 Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas) via Harbin Engineering University
The Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas) aims to attract and encourage outstanding young scholars (including non-Chinese foreign talents) who have achieved notable accomplishments in natural sciences, engineering, and related fields to return to China and perform their talents. Scholars are encouraged to independently choose their own research directions and conduct innovative studies, fostering a rapid development in scientific and technological youth talents. The program seeks to cultivate a great number of promising academic commander capable of making contributions at the forefront of global science and technology, thereby contributing to the construction of a technologically strong nation.
The following criteria should be based on the "Guide for the National Natural Science Foundation Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas) 2024".
1. Applicants for the Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas) should meet the following criteria:
(1)Comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, possess good scientific ethics, and conscientiously embody the spirit of scientists in the new era.
(2)Born on or after January 1st , 1984.
(3)Hold a doctoral degree.
(4)The main research focus shall cover natural sciences, engineering, and related fields.
(5)After obtaining a doctoral degree and before April 15, 2024, the applicant is generally expected to have held a formal teaching or research position at an overseas university, research institution, or corporate R&D institution, with a continuous work experience of at least 36 months. For those who have obtained a doctoral degree overseas with outstanding achievements, the work experience requirement may be appropriately relaxed.
(6)Have acquired research or technical achievements recognized by peers, and possess the potential to become an academic leader or outstanding talent in the field.
(7)Applicants who have not yet returned to work in China full-time or who returned to work in China on or after January 1, 2023, must resign from their overseas positions or have no employment overseas upon receiving the funding notification. They are required to work full-time in China for a minimum of 3 years.
(8)Restrictive Requirements:Adhere to the requirements of central authorities regarding the coordinated integration of national science and technology talent plans. Individuals at the same level of the national science and technology talent plan can only undertake one project and are not allowed to apply for projects at a lower level.
1. Eligible applicants can sign a work contract or an agreement of intent with supporting institutions according to the requirements of the program guidelines, and log in the information system (https://grants.nsfc.gov.cn/) after January 15, 2024 to fill out the Application for Science Fund Program for Distinguished Young Scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Overseas) (hereinafter referred to as the Application). Applicants are responsible for the authenticity of the submitted application materials.
2. Applicants should complete the Application in simplified Chinese or English and upload attachments and other materials in accordance with the instructions and outline of the Application.
3. The Science Fund Program for Distinguished Young Scholars (Overseas) is a paperless application. Applicants should submit the electronic Application and attachments, the commitment of impartiality, etc. to the supporting institutions online, and the supporting institutions will review and submit the Application to the NSFC online.
4. Applicants are requested to submit the electronic application form and attachments before April 13, 2024.
