Recently, the joint meeting of the deans of the 2025 Characteristic Pilot College of Software was held at Zhejiang University. At the meeting, the top ten key software technology innovation achievements for 2025 were announced, and Professor Tang Bin's "FastCAE Open Source Base Framework Platform" was successfully selected.

The conference was guided by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, hosted by the Demonstration Software College Alliance, and organized by the Software College of Zhejiang University. More than 100 experts, including deans and secretaries of the first batch of 33 characteristic demonstration software colleges in China and leaders of provincial-level characteristic demonstration software colleges, attended the conference. They had in-depth exchanges on the construction and high-quality development of characteristic demonstration software colleges, as well as the new paradigm of cultivating Chinese characteristic software talents.

In response to the long-standing dual dilemma of dependence on imports and self-developed repetitive development in China's CAE software field, the "FastCAE Open Source Base Framework Platform", as the first independent open source CAE integration framework in China, adopts a modular architecture design, provides standardized interfaces and modular toolchains, significantly reduces the threshold for CAE research and development, shortens the domestic related software research and development cycle by 70%, and fills the gap of shared bases for industrial software in China. This project has obtained more than 20 invention patents and participated in the development of the white paper "Open Source Industrial Software CAE Integration Framework" and the national standard "Classification and Grading Evaluation of Industrial Software" as core technical support. It has been successfully applied to national key universities such as numerical water tanks, numerical wind tunnels, and numerical engines. This platform has synchronously built an innovative ecosystem that deeply integrates industry, academia, research, and application, bringing together more than a hundred universities and enterprises to participate, effectively solving the problem of repeated development of self-developed CAE software in China, and creating a new model for open source collaborative innovation of industrial software in China.   

The school's Characteristic Pilot College of Software will deeply implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of the school, adhere to the principle of "five adherences and five emphases" in education, rely on the school's "three seas and one core" education characteristics, adhere to open source construction of bridges and deep integration of industry and education, continue to target the development needs of the shipbuilding industry software industry, cultivate compound innovative talents with strong technology, international vision and patriotism, and promote the innovation of key software technology and the construction of software industry ecology in the shipbuilding industry.
