Organized by the Heilongjiang Provincial Computer Society and hosted by the School of Computer Science and Technology of Harbin Engineering University, the seven-day 2024 Heilongjiang Provincial Youth Informatics Winter Camp was officially opened on January 15th. Wang Wei, vice dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Harbin Engineering University, Pan Haiwei, secretary-general of Heilongjiang Computer Society, and Wang Yuhua, chairman of the Committee of Information and Olympic Work of Heilongjiang Computer Society, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Yuezhu, Secretary General of the Heilongjiang Computer Society's Information Olympiad Working Committee.

Youth Informatics Olympiad Winter Camp is one of the important activities organized by Computer Society of Heilongjiang Province every year, and has become an event that the majority of young students in Heilongjiang Province are eagerly looking forward to since it was first held in 2017. This year's winter camp activity brought together more than 60 outstanding young people from across the province to explore the mysteries of computer science and technology, improve their skills and expand their horizons.

Wang Wei, vice dean of the School of Computer Science, delivered a speech on behalf of the school, first of all, expressed a warm welcome to the students and instructors participating in the winter camp, and expected the campers to harbor dreams, think hard and practice during the winter camp, comprehend the charm of science, and lay a solid foundation for the future study and development, and to become the hope and backbone of our future scientific and technological fields.

Pan Haiwei, Secretary General of Heilongjiang Computer Society, Wang Yuhua, Chairman of the Committee of Information and Olympics Work of Heilongjiang Computer Society, Guo Qingchun, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office and Director of Information Center of Provincial Experimental High School, delivered speeches on behalf of Heilongjiang Computer Society, NOI Informatics Specialists, and lecturers respectively. The excellent teachers from Normal University High School and Provincial Experimental High School of Informatics Olympiad, players who won medals in the national tournament and excellent members of the ACM team of our school served as members of the lecturers' group in this winter camp. In the next 7 days, the lecturers will use the teaching method of fun and immersive learning atmosphere, through organizing independent learning and team seminars, so that every camper participating in the winter camp can experience a wonderful programming journey, and pursue their own "programming dreams". During the winter camp, the college also arranged for the campers to visit the School History Museum, the Ship Museum and the Shenha Science Park, as well as three computer science lectures, which can further broaden the campers' horizons.

For young people who are interested in exploring computer science and technology and pursuing excellence, the Heilongjiang Youth Informatics Winter Camp provides them with a rare learning opportunity, and will give them wings for future development.
